Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the most sustainable building materials on earth. Unlike trees, bamboo "shoots up" after being cut down. It is actually in the grass family. We encourage the growing and use of bamboo wherever possible and use locally grown bamboo in all our straw bale walls. We also make custom bamboo cabinet door pulls and handles and tables made of Plyboo (laminated bamboo).

Though bamboo can be used as a structural building element, it is easier for the beginner to use it as visual architectural element first. Its natural beauty and design potential are often overlooked. Bamboo is not a weed growing in your neighbor?s yard, it is a strong, flexible, versatile, sustainable and elegantly beautiful building material.
